Egg White Seafood Breakfast Omelette

Happy Thursday Ya'll! We're almost there, I can smell Friday in the wind and not to mention it's St. Patricks Day weekend! Yes, I'm one of those who's always looking for a reason to have a good time. Speaking of good time, quick shout out to my Papa who just celebrated another birthday yesterday. We took him out to The Cheesecake Factory and yes I managed to eat healthy off of their Skinnylicious menu which can I recommend the Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta. It's under 560 calories, wait whaaaaaaa????? So, shoutout to you old man, you the best!

So since my last post I've joined back up at Lifetime Fitness. For those of you who aren't familiar with this gym, you should be. A bit pricey but they give you every single pennies worth of your money. I was a member back when I use to live in Atlanta but left for the country and never looked back but I'm back in a city and ready to go! You get access to their group classes, aqua, sauna and steam rooms to name a few of their amenities. Definitely top of the line when it comes to them.
P.S. did I mention I've dropped 5lbs. in the past month? JUST from changing my eating habits since I haven't started going hard in the gym.

Speaking of eating habits, I woke up this morning and read a few devotional scriptures and was feeling refreshed. Why not keep the good vibes going with a good hearty breakfast. The lazy girl in me wanted to pop some whole wheat waffles in the toaster, slap a spoon of peanut butter on there and call it a day. Then I realized, the sun is shining, body is feeling good so treat it to a nice meal.

I told myself this would be a simple omelette but it quickly morphed into a weeee bit more....

1. Threw in about 2-3 egg whites in the skillet (poured out of  a carton so I'm guess-timating). Then I thought, "Keep it simple Nicole." Added a little spinach to get my Popeye on.

2. Oh hey, let's get frisky and throw in a little tomato and basil feta.

3. Well that escalated quickly... crab meat where did you hail from.... Not that I'm mad about it....

4. Breaking out in song.... "Isn't she lovely....."
Well it's still kind of simple....

Needless to say, much better than a wheat waffle (which I'm not knockin!)

Off to bar classes tonight, say a prayer. If you don't see a post from me in the near future... Come peel my body off the floor somewhere.

Enjoy!

Seafood Salad... Yum Yummy :)

Okay so since I've been down this path before I knew losing weight starts in the kitchen not a gym! You can work out all you want but your body still needs the right nutrients to be at its BEST!

Tomorrow I have Bar Class which if none of you have heard of it, it's the new way to get in shape. One of Carrie Underwood's favorite work outs might I add. It's self explanatory working you out with weight, an exercise ball and of course the ballet bar. Don't let this fool you, anyone who knows about ballet know it's not all tutus and dramatic music. They work hard for those bodies which is what this class does. Extreme work outs that aren't too rough on your joints but you'll sweat like a pig! Yeah sweating is gross but that's just your fat crying, no biggie. Anywho look it up, you won't regret it. Well, I lie. You will the first few classes.

So tonight I decided to relax but make it worth my while. Seafood salad was on the menu! Co-worker of mine had been bringing her own homemade ones that I would drool over, A SALAD PEOPLE! I'm the anti-Christ of salads! So here we are.

After marinating my salmon I got fresh from Publix in a little teriyaki sauce, I popped it in the oven at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. While that was baking, I had my veggie pasta boiling on the oven with its crab meat neighbor next to it being seared in the skillet with a little oil. After the pasta was done I drained that and popped it in the fridge for a few minutes. Layered my salmon and crab meat on a nice bed of spinach with the chill veggie pasta. Sprinkled a little feta cheese and drizzled it off with some red wine vinagarette! Y'all wanna talk about GOOOOOOOD, let's talk about this then.

Hey nobody says eating healthy has to be nasty. If they do, pluck them in the forehead reallllll hard because they have no soul. Okay I'm outtie, hope y'all enjoyed this quick post!

Tootles Fat Girl!

Whelp it's been in the works but, I am back on the healthy lifestyle again. I've been a little hiatus taking some time to myself and figuring where I am and where I WANT to be. Let me tell y'all, it's not overweight with a high blood pressure which is where I'm at now. I lost 50 lbs about 5 years ago and got in the best shape I had ever been. Like most of us, I got too comfortable and found myself back where I started. So death to the past for coming back and here's to the future!

So as much as I have loved finding new projects and crafting, I'm putting that on the back burner for awhile. I vowed 2014 would be MY year and I'm about 3 weeks out from my 24th birthday it's time to OWN IT.

I'll be sharing my weekly updates and hopefully helping some of you who have been procrastinating like myself. So here we go..... Wait what?!??

Breakfast:

Turkey sausage egg white scramble over thin bagel topped with a little Swiss action.

DIY Refurbished End Table

This post is EXTREMELY overdue, like 3.5 months overdue. Yes yes I'll admit it, I'm hoarding projects! Hoard no more I say it's time to let these babies out. So, today's post was inspired by the never ending apartment decorating project that's been in progress sinceeeee September? You'd think with an itty bitty 700 sq feet it'd be done, nope not me. Back to why I'm here, I was roaming through Ryan's garage for random projects to start. Before I even got into the pile SPOTTED...

This wittle beauty calling my name to save it. I've been needing a small entrace table for my keys and random stuff when I walk in. With my space being so small I knew this would fit PERFECT.

My darling friend Jo was in town from Tifton, GA and was ready to be my tag team partner on this project since it was my first time painting furniture.

A few things you will need for this project are:
  • Furniture (FREE 99)
  • Sandpaper ($2)
  • Primer Paint ($4)
  • Glossy Spray Paint [Color of your choice] ($5)
  •
  • A good friend :) (Priceless, unless you owe em a drink)

Okay let's get this baby started!
  1. Hey Jo! Okay so as you see we started off sanding the table down. This way the paint will grab onto the table better.
  2.
  3. Primer time! Just like you're getting your hair colored, sometimes you have to go super light before you can get to the color you want.

3.         Okay so table has been primed and it's time to get started on your color choice!

Canary Yellow :)

Sweet shot Jo caught of me!

Voila!

 4.    So we let the newly reincanated canary baby dry for about 45 minutes, it was cold out so maybe not even that long!

Couldn't have found a better spot for it to go! Now my keys and other accessories have a home.

*Note: Make sure you aren't spraypainting near any cars or somewhere where a lot of dust and dirt can fly into your paint.

Well let's hope the next post isn't too far out from this one. Event season is nearing!

Until then,

Snow Day in Birmingham!

Safe to say weatherman was WRONG about us getting less than an inch. A normal 8 minute commute was 4 hours. Abandoned cars everywhere. Cars stuck on hills because the roads have iced over. Any who what are ya gonna do? Oh yeah and Miley stopped by! Crazy girl...

NFL Bound!

Quick midnight post before bed. Today was not a typical Thursday. Nope my baby brother officially declared for the 2014 NFL Draft! Cray!!! For those who didn't know we are all Roll Tide and Bama Nation over here. Not only am I an alumni but my younger brother, Adrian is as well! Of course he had to be extra and play football but we won't get into that unfair advantage. Any who after being the first male Hubbard to graduate from college and go to the next level I have never been prouder! We'll always be "GO BAMA!!!" Now the countdown is on until who will be our big leagues team!

Goodnight goodnight

DIY Faux Fur Vest

I hope you all enjoyed my first YouTube video and if you haven't lucky for you it'll never go away....never. So check that out below!

With temperatures dropping like the sweet tears of an Auburn fan after their loss to FSU last night I think it's about time for a winter post! (Yes, we did lose to Auburn but they're the most recent losers so HAHA!) Anywho Jesus Mary Joseph Alabama we're in the SOUTH not Alaska which brings us to this awesome DIY Faux Fur Vest! Yes, yes I will admit I have been witholding this for selfish reasonings but it's too cold for all that!

Not many or shall I say any more photos besides those because the directions are THAT simple.

  1. Go to your local fabric store. ( I went to Hobby Lobby so I could use my 40% off daily coupon which ended up costing me $26 total)
  2. Find a faux fur fabric of your choice and get at least 1 1/2 yards (2 if you want to be safe)
  3. Once you get home cut the fabric into a giant oval.
  4. Drape that oval over your body and pin or if you're a dare devil like me "eyeball" where you want your arm holes to go.
  5. Once you've figured out arm hole placements get to cutting those out starting off small so we leave room for damange control.
  6. After that VOILA! Clean those edges up and throw that baby on because it seriously is too cold out there ya'll.
Like I said super easy and you can even personalize with other accessories to make it yours. Dress it up. Dress it down. Do whatever it is your heart desires to keep it warm.

Hope you all enjoyed and please check out my YouTube Channel "DanyellKneecoal" and subscribe! Leave comments and feedback on more things you'd love to see!

Until then,
